For a lot of men, a haircut is something they squeeze between meetings. For us, it is the meeting.
We have kept the old British way of doing it — the one you would have found on London’s Jermyn Street a century ago. Hot towels. Scissors over comb. A straight razor when you want one. None of it rushed.
You will find us in a restored shophouse in Chinatown, a hundred metres from Maxwell MRT.
Every barber here has been personally trained by Mr Hassan El Gamal, a guild-accredited member of both the British Barbers Association and the Egyptian Barbers Academy. He has been refining the art of British barbering since 1999.

Some people learn a craft. Hassan El Gamal created a legacy.
He began his journey in the art of male grooming in 1999 in Egypt, training under the Egyptian Barbers Academy. Before moving to Singapore, he served as the private barber to His Highness Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, son of the King of Bahrain.
Over the years, Hassan has worked with ministers, ambassadors, and numerous chief executives whose names remain private out of respect and discretion.
Today, he is the founder of The British Barbers, where he personally trains every barber who joins the team because a standard such as this demands nothing less than excellence.

Mr. Hassan gave exceptionally and super great service and hospitality. I recommend 500 out of 10 for skills, service and personality. Will have a customer for life. First visit to The British Barbers and easily the best barber experience I have had over 25 years living in Singapore ... I chose the Royal Package and wasn't disappointed by the full service ... kudos to Hassan for his expertise and advice ... this is no my go to barber and highly recommended!

Amazing service. The barbers are extremely friendly and they take good care of you and your needs. I came to The British Barbers as a middle age man and left looking much much younger! The "honourable" Hassan lived up to his reputation as a Master Barber. Apart from his expert hair cutting skills, his customer service was excellent. Gave me sound advice on hair care. It’s difficult to know where to start honestly. I have just had the best barbers experience of my life. I travel extensively all over the world and have had the pleasure of visiting barbers in all major cities. However, I have just been to the best and this will become my monthly go to. I feel very fortunate to have found Hassan. To say that he is an artist doesn’t even feel enough of a compliment, perhaps an architect might be more or equally as appropriate.

Hassan’s Attention to detail is amazing. I like how he considers your lifestyle to suggest what fits best. The service is great, and he went to great lengths to show how to style after he was done cutting and washing my hair. Would recommend for someone looking for a good barber to give this a shot.

The service provided is very welcoming. They show you right away with the breakdown of services they provide. As you wait, they provide coffee, tea, or water and serve it in the most wonderful little cups. They are very respectful and professional. They took my friends and I as walk ins and fit us into their schedule.
There is great ambiance and the classical music is great with the atmosphere of the space. 5/5 will come back again when I'm visiting next time.
