A traditional hot towel shave uses a series of warm and cold towels to prepare and finish the skin around a razor shave. The hot towels open the pores and soften the beard for the closest possible cut, while the cold towels close the pores and refresh the skin afterward. The whole process is more than grooming, it is a small act of self-care.
The Hot Towel Shave Process
Your shave begins with a hot towel wrapped around your face for several minutes to soften the beard. We then apply our British Barbers Association shave butter, working it into the skin to lift every hair. A precision blade is used to shave with the grain, then re-applied for a second pass for the smoothest result. A cold towel closes the pores, and we finish with a soothing post-shave balm.
